Specialized, compassionate care for the challenges that brought you here
I provide individual therapy for adults navigating complex experiences. My approach is trauma-informed, culturally attuned, and grounded in evidence-based practices. Below are the areas where I specialize.
Trauma isn't just about what happened to you—it's about how those experiences continue to live in your body and mind. Whether you've experienced a single overwhelming event or years of ongoing stress, trauma can shape how you see yourself, others, and the world around you.
I use EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and trauma-informed approaches to help you process painful memories at the neurological level. Together, we'll work to reduce the intensity of traumatic memories so they no longer hijack your present.
Boundaries are the invisible lines that define where you end and others begin. When those lines are blurry—or when they've been violated—it can be hard to know what you need, let alone ask for it.
Learning to assert your boundaries isn't about building walls. It's about creating healthy limits that protect your emotional space while still allowing for genuine connection. This work often involves unlearning patterns from childhood, family systems, or cultural expectations.
Anxiety shows up differently for everyone. For some, it's racing thoughts that won't quiet down. For others, it's a knot in the stomach, a tightness in the chest, or a constant sense that something bad is about to happen.
Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and other evidence-based approaches, we'll work together to understand your anxiety patterns, challenge unhelpful thoughts, and develop practical strategies for managing overwhelming emotions.
I bring PhD-level research expertise to my work with OCD and hoarding. These conditions are often misunderstood—OCD is more than just being "neat," and hoarding is about much more than clutter.
OCD involves intrusive, unwanted thoughts (obsessions) and repetitive behaviors or mental acts (compulsions) that temporarily relieve anxiety. Hoarding disorder involves difficulty discarding possessions, regardless of their actual value, leading to cluttered living spaces that impact daily functioning.
Change—even positive change—can be disorienting. Major life transitions often bring up questions about identity, purpose, and what comes next. You might feel lost, stuck, or unsure of who you are outside of the role you used to play.
Using existential and narrative therapy approaches, we'll explore what this transition means to you, grieve what's ending, and begin to envision who you're becoming.
Your cultural background shapes how you experience the world—and how the world experiences you. For many people, navigating between cultures, generations, or expectations can create internal conflict, confusion, or a sense of not fully belonging anywhere.
As a Ghanaian-American therapist, I understand the complexity of holding multiple identities. I provide a space where you can explore these intersections without judgment or the need to explain yourself.
I use evidence-based methods including EMDR, CBT, and trauma-informed care—all grounded in Sankofa, the Ghanaian principle of looking back to move forward.
