Counseling Intern

If you would like support while addressing anxiety, depression, life transitions, cultural identity issues, or trauma and PTSD, I can help guide you through your journey using a client-centered approach. While building trust and connection, I support my clients using CBT, ACT, Relational Cultural Therapy (RCT), as well as Narrative Therapy to achieve their therapeutic goals. Together, we will discover and implement the tools that will help you build the life you desire. I believe that no one is broken; rather, we are all complex individuals shaped by our unique life experiences. Sometimes these experiences can lead to a sense of estrangement from our internal selves, our bodies, the land, and the world around us.

I help BIPOC teens, adults, couples, groups, and LGBTQIA+ individuals experience personal growth and resilience. As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I offer a welcoming and safe environment where clients can unpack their experiences free of judgment. I am also multi-ethnic with heritage from both the US and the Caribbean. As a result, I deeply understand the complexities of integrating our multiple identities, the confusion, and the feelings of belonging. I provide a supportive environment where you don't have to work to be understood.

Leah Cannon

Counseling Intern

I am Leah Cannon, a master's student in Pacific University's Applied Clinical Psychology Program. I believe that every day is a learning opportunity. I have several years of experience providing direct behavioral therapy for children with autism spectrum disorder. Additionally, I have several years of experience researching the social-emotional development of children and the development of children's relational learning skills based on environmental factors. I have experience working with youth aged 2–16.

While my previous experience was focused on youth, I am excited to expand my learned skills to a variety of individuals. I welcome the opportunity to work with adults, couples, families, and of course, with children. I have an interest in individualized trauma-informed care, group therapy, and administering assessments. As your clinician, I am here to help you on your journey. I look forward to providing evidence-based care that will teach you the skills that will inform your past, aid your present, and support your future.
